Fair Nesting

Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Fair Nesting, including our website and application features.

By creating an account, signing in, or using Fair Nesting, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Fair Nesting.

If you are a consumer, mandatory laws in your country of residence may give you rights that cannot be waived by contract. Where those laws apply, they prevail over conflicting parts of these Terms.

The service

Fair Nesting helps household members log and review contributions to shared household work using token-based task values and related insights.

Fair Nesting is a visibility and coordination tool. It is not legal advice, mediation, counselling, employment advice, or a guarantee of fairness outcomes between household members.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your sign-in details secure.

You must use an email address you control. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account unless you tell us promptly that your account was compromised.

Households and invitations

Fair Nesting organises activity around households. When you join or create a household, other members may see your display name, contributions, and related household activity as described in the Household visibility section of our Privacy Policy.

If you invite someone, you confirm you have a reasonable basis to invite them and that you will share invite details only with the intended recipient.

Household owners and members are responsible for how they use Fair Nesting within their household, including who they invite and what they log.

Your content

You retain rights in the content you submit, such as task notes, custom task names, thanks messages, help-request messages, preference data, and feedback messages.

You grant Fair Nesting a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, display, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate and improve the service and to show it to other members of the relevant household according to the visibility rules described in our Privacy Policy (including exceptions for personal routines, written thank-you messages, help requests and review requests).

Saved routines are private to the member who created them. Tasks saved using a routine are shared with the household in the same way as other task records.

You must not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Misuse Fair Nesting, probe or disrupt the service, or attempt unauthorised access.
  • Harass others, impersonate anyone, or use the service for unlawful purposes.
  • Scrape, copy, or misuse Fair Nesting in a way that harms the service or other users.
  • Interfere with another household’s data or security.

Plans, billing, and changes to the service

Fair Nesting is billed per household at £3.99/month (GBP). One subscription covers up to 5 active household members (including the owner). New households include a 30-day free trial with no payment details required to create an account or start the trial. Joining an existing household does not create or restart a trial. The household owner starts checkout and manages billing; payment unlocks recording and history edits for the whole household. Other members can view subscription status but cannot open Checkout or the billing portal. A trial without a subscription does not charge automatically.

Promotion or discount codes, when offered, are entered on the Stripe Checkout page.

The household owner manages billing, invoices, payment methods, and cancellation from Settings → Manage billing, which opens Stripe’s Customer Portal. If a subscription was arranged during the free trial and cancellation is scheduled before the first payment, the household is not charged at trial end and recording remains available until the original trial end. Cancelling an active paid subscription stops renewal at the end of the current paid period; access continues until that date. Transferring ownership stops the previous owner’s renewal at the end of the paid period; the new owner sets up their own payment method.

If a household’s free trial or subscription ends without renewal, history remains viewable and recording pauses until the owner subscribes again. Members can still log in, view Home, History, Stats, and Settings, and manage their account; recording new tasks and editing or undoing history stay paused.

Paid subscription fees are generally non-refundable for unused time in a billing period once charged. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, including free features, with reasonable notice where practical. We are not obliged to provide every feature indefinitely. Pricing changes will be shown in-product or at checkout before they apply to a new or renewed subscription.

Intellectual property

Fair Nesting, including its name, branding, design, software, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of Fair Nesting.

You may use the service only as permitted by these Terms.

Disclaimers

Fair Nesting is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that Fair Nesting will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that contribution insights will reflect every form of household work or resolve disagreements.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fair Nesting and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or Fair Nesting will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for Fair Nesting in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) fifty pounds sterling (£50), or the equivalent of that amount in the currency in which you paid us (or, if you have not paid us, the equivalent of £50 in your local currency at the time of the claim).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that mandatory consumer law in your country of residence does not allow us to exclude or limit.

Termination

You may stop using Fair Nesting at any time and may leave households or request account closure through the product where available, or by contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the service. We will try to give notice where reasonable.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date on this page. For material changes, we may also provide an in-product or email notice.

If you continue using Fair Nesting after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to the next paragraph, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or Fair Nesting.

If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where mandatory consumer or procedural law gives you that right. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract continue to apply and, where they conflict with these Terms, those protections prevail.
